Howdy Beauties!!

How about this for a party season outfit inspiration? This sexy cold-shoulder lace blouse from Zaful has the right amount of sass that will have you feeling yourself. Having said that, wearing tops like this is kind of a real struggle. As a curvy lady who's quite heavy on the chest area, I love my bras. I feel confident when I'm supported if you understand what I mean. Ha!! -And gone are the days when we used to wear bras with clear straps. In hindsight I could've wore a bra but, I felt like it would've taken something away from the style. This top is really well made.

The skirt is unfortunately soldout but, its from boohoo. Its so flattering on the curves. I'm constantly stopping myself from buying something red. It is such a vibrant colour that just draws you in. I love it!

BRING ON THE CHRISTMAS PARTY...

                

Happy Friday and Festive Season Beauties!

Hope the week has been good to ya and you're shopping away. My week has been stressful but, thank God its Friday. I plan on having a tea sipping relaxing weekend. Ha!!

I would like to take a moment to welcome you all to my new domain. Getting my own blog domain has been something I've been wanting to do for awhile now but, there were questions that needed answering. God being so good it has happened and I pray it goes well. Due to the migration to my own domain I've lost all my previous comments on all my posts which were linked to google plus. I'm quite sad about that but, life goes on. Embracing the change and looking forward to making new memories.

Festive Talk

With that out of the way....lets talk about the festive season ahead and how we'll be slaying in party perfect dresses. The holiday parties are all about stepping out in style without breaking the bank but, also keeping comfort in mind. From a timeless classic velvet and sequin piece to a sexy 'when in doubt' wear black number or a cheerful vibrant print, the choices are endless.

Seen above are some dresses that caught my eyes. They're affordable, glamorous, sexy in their own rights and will surely make a statement.

STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE...

I've been trying to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to styling of late. -Its been a long time coming!

Once upon a time, there was a girl called Mavis. She was so insecure with herself that being tomboy was the only way to express herself. Not that she hated female things, but it wasn't her comfort zone. Out of being a girl with meat on her body and being a tomboy, she got the nickname Missy in school (like Missy Elliot). I wasn't even mad at that at all because I was a huge fan of her. If anything I was humbled and honoured really.

The struggle of accepting one's body after giving birth is a battle. I'm probably still a work in progress but, not where I used to be which my mind is probably thankful for.

When it comes to fashion and styling, I'm very conservative in my choices, but one might say a bit sexy too. -And that is because I'm a curvy woman. Curves can not be hidden. Lol!!

This ootd is me out of my zone a bit because you wouldn't catch me with my midriff showing back in the days or months ago. If you squint real hard you can even see the tiger stripes (a.k.a stretch marks) on my tummy. Love it but, working on that tummy to flatten out a bit is hard. I love my heavy food. Ha!!

The sweat top and pants are from Primark. I got the laced up ankle boots years ago in TK Maxx and bomber jacket from New Look.

I'M A SUCKER FOR STRIPES...

This TOP is officially one of my favourites in my closet. I'm a sucker for stripes at heart, but the boldness of this stripe is everything. There is something about stripes that seem to get me all the time. Plus, it is a timeless classic pattern in my book. My closet is full of em which is crazy!!

I got this chic top from my wishlist collaboration with Rosegal. It is a lovely quality piece which will surely make heads turn when you wear it. -For the price of it, I'm not mad at all. 

Styling-wise, I knew I wanted to style it with a white buttom because I wanted the top to be the statement piece. -And by the look of these photos, perfect (if I may say so myself)!

THE LEATHER JACKET YOU NEED THIS SEASON...

I've been craving for a leather jacket for ages. In fact I'm surprised I don't owe one. Well luck was on my side when the opportunity came to collaborate with Broadway Bradford during their 48-hour Fashion Fix. Like I stated in my first post about this event here, I was given a budget to shop in River Island.

This black belted quilted biker collar coat immediately caught my eyes when I walked into the shop. The details on the coat stood out to me and when I tried it on, there was no turning back. It's a faux fur fabric and I love the fact that it has a double fur trim which are all detachable. The coat has a weight to it which is great and very cosy. In a nutshell, everything about this coat is perfect. -And that is why you need it for this season. It is quite on the pricey side, but I suppose it's worth it. It is an investment piece.

I wanted the awesomeness of the coat to stand out so I kept it simple with the styling of this outfit. The ensemble are basics every lady needs or should have in their closet really.

Thank God it's Friday!

Another needed weekend which seemed like it was never gonna come. Ha!!

Spotting today on the #ootd department is a wrap dress that quite didn't do it for me when it arrived. The soft pink threw me off a bit, but after trying it on, I was sold! I loved how it looked on my body. It is effortless, but also very sexy.

I wore this look for girl's night out.

ROCKING FALL'S COLOUR TREND, RED!....

Howdy Beauties!?

Hope you're all doing well and slaying in whatever you're doing.

If we're following each other on Instagram, you might have seen this photo already. If we're not following each other, what are you waiting for? Ha!

I had the pleasure of being a wedding guest in Italy over the summer, but realised that I haven't shared this on my blog. This was my first visit to Italy and aside the gangster mosquitoes (Lol!), I enjoyed this holiday a lot. I definitely plan on going back to explore this country because the time was too short for me.
It so happens that red is my favourite colour and according to the fashion gods, it is also the IT colour trend for Autumn/Winter. 
It was love at first sight when I saw this dress online few years ago. It is very classy, but has a dramatic structure to it that catches one's attention instantly. The compliments and attentions I got was definitely overwhelming. Loved it (wink!)!

JOIN THE BROADWAY FASHION FIX IN BRADFORD...

Those following me on Instagram might have already seen some of these photos of me two weeks ago at the Broadway Bradford 48-hour Fashion Fix. To welcome the cold season, The Broadway Bradford is launching a 48 hour Fashion Fix event which involves brands like Topshop, River Island, H&M, Topman, Superdry, New Look, etc. etc. When visitors spend £30 or more in any of the brands involved, they've the opportunity to participate in the Fashion Fix interactive area where they can play ‘If the Shoe fits’ or ‘Hook a Handbag’. 

Now if that ain't fun, I don't know!

The Event takes place on the 28th - 29th Oct which is Saturday and Sunday.

These are some images I took with my phone, but I'll be doing some style posts with my picks from River Island store. I was given a budget to spend in store which was amazing! I also had the opportunity of picking some IT items from different brands that I thought would be great for Fall and these will be displayed at the event. It was really a time well spent and a lovely experience. I met lovely people like fashion blogger Ally.

This shirt caught my attention in River Island. I mean what's there not to love about plaids and frills? Fall perfection!

WISHLIST AND GET TO KNOW TWINKLEDEALS...

Another day, another brand to introduce to you. I don't know about you, but I love discovering new brands. It is one of the reasons why I love blogging to be honest. My bookmark is full of brands I've discovered through visiting other blogs and rummaging through these sites is a joyous hobby of mine. Ha!!

That statement up there is what Twinkledeals says they're about. Having spent days rummaging through their website, I agree with that statement. I found a lot of fashion-forward ensemble that were spectacular. This of course made creating this wishlist hard, because there were a lot of things I saw and loved. 

In the spirit of Fall/Winter and Christmas which is right around the corner, I created a collage of some tops which I believe are perfect for Fall/Winter and some sophisticated black dresses which are perfect for swanky Christmas events. Some retailers in the UK started their Christmas decors last month so believe me when I say its not too early to also start thinking about what you gonna wear. Ha!!

Each piece selected has something stylish, sexy and unique about them. Definitely a plus in the closet!

I'm yet to try something from this brand, but I'm hoping the quality is good as they look on their website.

KEEPING IT CLASSY AS A WEDDING GUEST...

Whether to cheer on the newly couple, socialize, strut your stuff in a killer outfit, bust some moves to some good music or hunt for a potential partner? -Everybody goes to a wedding for different reasons. I may not be speaking for every lady, but I know for sure that for some of us ladies, the first thing that comes to mind when we get an invitation is "what am I going to wear?"  

As a wedding guest, the most important thing to me is keeping it classy no matter what I choose to wear. Even if you're there to fish, don't attend someone's wedding looking thirsty AF. Ha!! Show some skin if you want to, but still be tasteful about it.

Blazers have classy written all over them and they're always a choice for me especially if I opt for a sleeveless dress. One can never go wrong with them.

FIND THE PURRRFECT FALL/WINTER KNITWEARS...

The spread of Fall/Winter essentials continues! It is inevitable to ignore topics like this as these seasons are unavoidable. -Unless you're a rich person who can afford to escape the cold to a hot sunny-side destination every season, then this post probably isn't for you. Ha!!

ZAFUL is gradually becoming a household name in the fashion department or the blogsphere. -And we can't be mad at that! The brand has been serving us chic fashion on budget and as someone who has bought from them before, I can attest to the quality. To be honest I've been shopping from brands like this compared to my usual high street brands. Majority of the complains about these Chinese brands is the sizing, but if you're able to crack that code, you're good to go.

Now let us talk about Sweaters and everything knitwear. They're easy and quick to style. No need for ironing and faffing about with them. Sometimes you're late and want to throw on something quick and dash out the door. Zaful has got hundreds of style of knitwear with nice details and colours which are chic, trendy and amongst all, super affordable. Staying warm and cosy doesn't mean boring. Make people look at you twice when you remove your layers. Ha!

That was exactly the story with this dress. It was even a done deal when I saw that it was on sale. Without trying it on, I headed straight for the till and never looked back since.

FALL PERFECT IN AFFORDABLE SWEATER DRESSES...

The sweater season is finally here and I couldn't be happy about it. While I'm not keen on the cold, I get to wear fancy sweaters which is way better than eating chocolate. 

Sorry chocolate lovers! Ha!!

Focusing on the very latest in affordable fashion styles, both attire and stunning accessories, Dresslily is the place to shop for your latest Fall/Winter pieces.
